Don't Let Chapped Hands Spoil The Party
If you suffer from chapped hands when the weather gets colder then you'll know what a pain they can be .. literally! Chapped hands can get very dry, rough, cracked and painful so you need to take care of them and protect them. Exposure to cold temperatures, dry, warm air from indoor heating and frequent washing are the main causes of chapped, dry skin.
Get into the habit of looking after your hands regularly. When you're outside in cold weather always wear gloves so your skin is protected from the cold. When you wash your hands use warm water, not hot (hot water dries skin out) and pat skin dry, don't rub. After washing slather on a rich barrier cream, such as Dermalogica's Ultrarich Body Cream which shields skin from extremes of temperature and is packed with Antioxidants, Oil of Evening Primrose and Panthenol which recondition and repair skin. Before bed you should again apply a rich cream, rub in well and, in extreme cases, put on some cotton gloves so the cream is better absorbed and not rubbed off overnight! Do these little things regularly and your hands should soon be looking, and feeling, a lot better!
