Skin Excellence No Matter What Your Age

Irrespective of age, having a bad diet can also play havoc with our skin and bodies.  If we have a diet that’s filled with junk food and is deficient in nutrients, essential vitamins and minerals then we can develop all sorts of severe health and skin problems, such as dermatitis, skin discoloration and premature ageing.  A diet that’s rich in nutrients such as folic acid, calcium and niacin is essential to maintain good health and skin tone.  Eating wholesome, nutritious foods benefits not only our insides but our skin as well. Making sure you eat lots of yummy vegetables, fruits, whole grains, etc, will have you glowing inside and out in no time!

Exercising also is a great way to improve our health and to get glowing skin.  Exercise improves blood circulation and increases the delivery of nutrients to the skin’s cells this is a great way to help to slow the results of skin ageing.  As a result, toxins that are extremely damaging to our bodies and skin are cleared away.

As far as skincare is concerned, it’s simple to establish a good skincare routine which will keep your skin glowing and healthy.  Using the right skincare products for your particular skin type is important.  Wash your face with a gentle soap or cleanser and use lukewarm water, never hot.  Rinse well.

Splashing your face with cold water is a great way to revive skin as it stimulates blood circulation, which in turn energizes the skin.  Use a rich, nourishing moisturiser and at night use a night cream as these are extra nutritious and are formulated to work their magic on your skin while you sleep, which is the best time for skin to rebuild skin tissue and cells.

Your skincare regime should also include regular exfoliation.   Exfoliating gets rid of dead skin cells and clears pores of impurities that would otherwise cause blockages.  By eliminating the dead skin cells our “new” skin is revealed and this looks more radiant and healthy than skin that has a layer of dead skin cells on it!

But what if you have ageing skin? Just slapping on any old exfoliation product is unlikely to get you optimum results, there are different solutions for different skin types. For instance Dermalogica’s Multivitamin Thermafoliant is a thermal skin polisher that not only refines skin’s texture but also conditions and treats ageing skin.  The thermal technology activates upon contact with skin to drive beneficial ingredients, including Vitamins A, C & E, into the skin.  Plus it contains Retinol which helps to reverse the signs of ageing. Skin is left smoother, softer and brighter. In fact, Dermalogica produce a range of products specifcally for age related skin concerns, called Age Smart. Don't forget that the eye are needs special attention, the Dermalogica age reversal eye complex is a brand new product that has exceptonally good reviews when it comes to improving ageing skin around the eye area.
